Happy Memorial Day to all of my readers in the US or really anyone who may benefit from this all too rare 3-day weekend in the US. This year I decided to stay put and enjoy a few stress free days in warm Los Angeles.  A lazy, bottomless Mimosa brunch with friends, time reading on my rooftop deck, a day of bike riding down to a local beach, capoeira training and time for a much needed mani/pedi.

All in all a good weekend and it was nice to not deal with the crazy crowds trying to make the most of a long weekend.  Oversold flights, bumper to bumper freeways, and overpriced accommodations can make a girl want to just stay close to home.

Another reason I decided to forgo the travel this weekend is because I have a bunch of trips planned for the coming month.  If all goes according to plan my brand new passport will get broken in with stamps from Lebanon, Kuwait, Italy and the Netherlands.  Fingers crossed those trips all come together.

So for those of you who did venture further than their back yard for the holidays, where did you go? How far did you go and how difficult or easy were your travels?  Wherever you ended up I hope you had fun, time to relax and enjoyed the company of friends and family.
