Travel Reminiscing – Top 10 Most Beautiful (Pt. 2)

Posted in Uncategorized

Last Monday was a holiday and life was good. This week I’m not quite so lucky as Monday is a Monday complete with traffic and office coffee and pointless emails. But that’s OK – I can still dream and reminisce. So wrapping up on last Monday’s post, here are numbers 6 – 10 of the most beautiful places I’ve been.

And it is worth repeating from last Monday’s post, although this type of list begs for lots of photos, sadly I visited many of these places before I had a digital camera. I’ve now gotten better at using my scanner but now I can’t seem to locate the shoebox where the pictures are hiding. For now, this post will be a little short on actual photos, but I’ll add them as I can.

6. Sunrise over Machu Picchu, Peru – I had seen some amazing pictures, but being there at sunrise is almost magical.

7. Victoria Falls, Zambia – the water of the falls is so strong you get soaked within 10 minutes of being in the park – the views and the energy are spectacular.

8. Hampton Court Gardens, England – acres of flowers, tall grasses, fountains, a hedge maze and secluded benches – a great place to get away and take in natures beauty.

9. View from the top of Table Mountain, South Africa – the views of Cape Town are amazing on their own, but if you’ve hiked up this majestic mountain to get them, you have the views and the added feeling of victory.

10. Telluride, Colorado (in the summer) – the mountains are so close you can nearly reach out and touch them; it took my breath away.

Of course there are plenty of places I’ve left off this list (Kinkaku-jin temple in Kyoto and the view from the top of the Great Wall of China quickly come to mind) – I could probably do a top 50 list without too much effort. Would love to see what you would add to the list from your travels both near and far. Leave me a comment below with yoru favs.
